Customers ignore reminders for many reasons: the letter went unopened, the email went to spam, or the call came at a bad time. The answer is rarely more of the same. It is reaching each customer on the channel they actually use, at the right moment, with an easy way to act.
Get customers to respond to payment reminders
everymessage automates payment reminders and collections contact across SMS, RCS, email, AI voice calls, digital letters and post, from one UK-hosted platform. Each reminder can carry a secure link to your own payment page, customers can reply to arrange a payment, and every message, reply and outcome is recorded against the account.
How it works
- Send the first reminder on the channel the customer is most likely to read, usually SMS, with a link to your payment page.
- Follow up automatically if the customer hasn't paid or replied: a second message on another channel, an email, an AI voice call or a digital letter.
- Let customers respond their way. They can reply by text, tap a button in an RCS message, or speak to an AI voice assistant that can send a payment link during the call. Replies go to your team's inbox, trigger the next step automatically, or go straight to your systems.
- Send formal letters when you need to. Digital letters are delivered to a secure, branded portal where the customer verifies who they are, and each one is tracked. If a letter isn't opened, it can be printed and posted automatically.

Frequently asked questions
Can customers pay directly from a text message?
Yes. A reminder can include a secure link to your own payment page or gateway, so the customer can pay in a few taps. everymessage sends the message and records the response; payment itself stays with your existing provider.
What happens if a customer doesn't respond?
You decide the next step. A typical journey moves from SMS to email, then an AI voice call or a digital letter, and finally a printed letter, stopping as soon as the customer pays or replies.
Will it work with our current systems?
Yes. everymessage integrates with existing databases, back-office systems and payment gateways, including legacy platforms, so reminders can be triggered by your collections or billing system.
Can we send payment reminders by WhatsApp?
We recommend avoiding WhatsApp for payment reminders and collections. WhatsApp’s Business Policy lists debt collection among the uses it prohibits, so collections messages put your WhatsApp Business account at risk of being restricted or banned. SMS, RCS, email, AI voice calls and letters do the job without that risk. (Source: WhatsApp Business Policy, section 4.)
